Three people were injured after a head-on crash in the 3800 block of Ocean View Boulevard in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood on Thursday night, January 1, 2026.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:37 p.m. when a Volkswagen Passat traveling westbound on Ocean View Boulevard crossed into eastbound lanes and struck a Kia Soul head-on.
Police said the 33-year-old man driving the Passat suffered internal injuries described as life-threatening. The 61-year-old woman driving the Kia Soul sustained a leg injury, while a 63-year-old woman riding as a passenger suffered a broken femur.
Authorities stated that alcohol was a factor in the crash. No further details were immediately available.
