An 87-year-old man was killed, and another person sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the Airport Boulevard off-ramp near Sacramento International Airport early Thursday morning, January 2, 2025.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. when a pickup truck swerved through a fence and collided with an SUV.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the pickup truck driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The off-ramp remained open during the investigation, and authorities have stated that DUI is not suspected as a factor in the collision.
The name of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. CHP continues to investigate the crash.
