[01-02-2025] 12-Year-Old Boy Injured After Bicycle Vs. Vehicle Collision on Salida BoulevardA 12-year-old boy sustained major injuries in a traffic collision involving a bicycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Salida Boulevard and Broadway Avenue in Salida, Stanislaus County, on Thursday evening, January 2, 2025.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. Preliminary investigations revealed that the juvenile was riding his bicycle eastward and attempted to cross Salida Boulevard at the north crosswalk against a red light.

At the same time, 28-year-old Maria T. of Salida was driving a 2019 Acura northbound on Salida Boulevard and entered the intersection on a green light. The bicycle and the vehicle collided, causing the boy to be thrown onto the hood of the Acura before landing on the roadway.

Emergency responders transported the boy, who was wearing a helmet, to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
