[01-03-2026] Imperial County, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck on Even Hewes Highway Near Forrester Road

A pedestrian suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Even Hewes Highway just east of Forrester Road in Imperial County on Saturday night, January 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a driver reported that they had struck a pedestrian. 

Authorities said the pedestrian sustained major injuries and was flown to a trauma center by REACH Air Ambulance. Traffic on Even Hewes Highway was diverted for more than two hours as emergency crews responded and worked at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
