A 75-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle collision allegedly caused by a suspected DUI driver in Riverside on Saturday evening, January 4, 2025.
According to Riverside police, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Collett Avenue and Stonewall Drive.
The victim, driving a white 2005 Jeep Liberty, was slowing to make a left turn when her vehicle was rear-ended by a gray 2014 Toyota Tundra driven by a 38-year-old Norco resident.
The impact pushed the Jeep into oncoming traffic, where it collided head-on with a red 2014 Toyota C-HR driven by a 70-year-old Riverside resident.
The 75-year-old woman was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. It is unclear whether the 70-year-old driver sustained injuries.
The driver of the Tundra was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
