A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Los Molinos, Tehama County, early Saturday morning, January 4, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Highway 99 near Marek Road.
Emergency responders, including the Tehama County Fire Department, arrived at the scene and confirmed the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the 2020 Toyota Corolla involved in the collision, identified as 42-year-old Jose M. of Anderson, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have contributed to the incident.
The identity of the deceased pedestrian will be released by the Tehama County Coroner’s Office after notifying the next of kin.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
