Two motorcycle riders were killed in a crash on East Grade Road near mile marker 10.6 on Palomar Mountain, San Diego County, on Sunday afternoon, January 5, 2025.
The collision occurred around 1:20 p.m., according to Cal Fire Capt. Mike Cornette. Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene before they could be transported to a hospital.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash appeared to involve only the two motorcycles. Two tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles, and the road was closed in both directions during the investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. Further details have not been released at this time.
