A driver was killed, and another sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision on Country Club Drive in Palm Desert on Wednesday night, January 8, 2025.
According to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, deputies responded to the crash at approximately 9:46 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Country Club Drive, west of El Dorado Drive.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes collided with two vehicles heading westbound.
Paramedics pronounced one driver dead at the scene, while another driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
The crash temporarily closed intersections at Country Club Drive and El Dorado Drive, as well as Country Club Drive and Desert Falls Drive.
The Palm Desert Traffic Team is leading the investigation.
