[01-08-2026] Fresno County, CA – Photojournalist Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle Near Van Ness Ave. and Tulare St.

A photojournalist was struck by a vehicle while covering an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest near Van Ness Avenue and Tulare Street in downtown Fresno on Thursday night, January 8, 2026.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision occurred around 7:20 p.m. adjacent to a bus stop just outside the federal courthouse. Authorities stated that the crash was not related to the protest, and the driver was not arrested.

Emergency responders transported the photojournalist to a hospital as a precaution after he sustained minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
