A skateboarder was fatally struck by a car on the Esplanade in Chico early Thursday morning, January 9, 2025.
According to authorities, the collision occurred just after 2:00 a.m. near Mission Ranch Boulevard.
The skateboarder, identified as a man in his 20s or 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver involved in the crash is a 21-year-old woman from Chico.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
