[01-13-2025] Pedestrian Involved in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 70 in Oroville, Minor Injuries ReportedA female pedestrian caused a two-vehicle crash on Highway 70 near Montgomery Street in Oroville, Butte County, on Monday afternoon, January 13, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:56 p.m. when the pedestrian was crossing all lanes of the highway. 

A northbound vehicle braked suddenly to avoid hitting her, leading to a rear-end collision with another vehicle. Both vehicles ended up blocking the northbound lanes.

Minor injuries were reported, and tow trucks were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles. All lanes have since reopened.

CHP is investigating the crash and reminding drivers to remain cautious and watch for pedestrians.
