[01-14-2026] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Injures Both Drivers on South Higuera St.

A two-vehicle crash injured both drivers on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2026.

According to San Luis Obispo Police Department spokesperson Christine Wallace, the crash occurred at about noon when a Kia turned left into oncoming traffic and collided with a Jeep driving southbound near Coastal Peaks Coffee. 

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision.

Traffic was briefly reduced to one lane on the southbound side of South Higuera Street while officers responded to the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
