[01-15-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Driver Seriously Injured in Crash with Dump Truck on Southbound I-5 in Natomas

A driver was seriously injured after crashing into a dump truck along southbound Interstate 5 in Natomas, Sacramento County, on Thursday evening, January 15, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash around 6:00 p.m. near the Arena Boulevard exit. 

The crash occurred when a vehicle struck the back of a dump truck. The driver, a man, was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries.

Investigators are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the crash. CHP officials stated that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
