[01-24-2026] San Diego County, CA – Passenger Seriously Injured, Driver Arrested After DUI Crash at 15th and F Streets

A passenger was seriously injured, and a driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving following a two-vehicle crash in the East Village community of San Diego on Saturday night, January 24, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of 15th and F streets. 

Authorities said a speeding westbound Kia Optima driven by a 20-year-old man on F Street broadsided a southbound Subaru Forester driven by a 37-year-old man who was crossing F Street on 15th Street. The Kia then struck a parked Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was pushed into a parked Toyota Corolla.

A passenger in the Subaru suffered serious injuries, including a brain bleed and a ruptured diaphragm. The driver of the Kia was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The investigation is ongoing.
