[01-25-2025] 14-Year-Old Boy Injured After Hit-And-Run Crash on Alder StreetA 14-year-old boy sustained injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while running along Alder Street near Lighthouse Avenue in Pacific Grove on Saturday night, January 25, 2025.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. when a blue Prius hit the teenager and fled the scene. Emergency responders treated the boy at the scene before his parents transported him to a hospital for further evaluation.

The following day, a local resident spotted the suspect’s vehicle in Pacific Grove and recorded the license plate number, which was provided to the Pacific Grove Police Department. Officers used a FLOCK camera system to identify the vehicle’s owner as 36-year-old Icaro Fernandes.

Fernandes was later located and arrested on charges of felony hit-and-run. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
