A motorcyclist sustained major injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Stanislaus County on Wednesday evening, January 29, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on McHenry Avenue just north of Bangs Avenue. 52-year-old Edward R. of Newman was driving a 2012 Toyota Yaris southbound when he made a left turn directly into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas E. of Salida, was ejected from his 2024 Harley Davidson Softail upon impact. He was transported to Doctors Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver was reportedly uninjured.
Authorities are investigating the incident but stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors. The CHP has spoken to one witness and is seeking additional information. Witnesses are urged to call 209-545-7440.
