One person was killed, and three others were injured in a high-speed wrong-way collision on Interstate 10 in Whitewater, Riverside County, early Friday morning, February 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:43 a.m. in the eastbound number one lane near the Whitewater Rest Stop.
The collision involved multiple vehicles, resulting in two individuals being transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the victims.
Following the crash, eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed for three hours, with traffic diverted onto State Highway 111 into Palm Springs.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
