A woman sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while with her 4-year-old daughter in Brisbane on Friday evening, February 7, 2025.
According to Brisbane police, the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. outside Midtown Market on Visitacion Avenue. The woman was standing outside her vehicle when she was hit by a passing driver.
Emergency responders arrived and transported the woman to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Her 4-year-old daughter sustained minor injuries and was found close to the roadway.
Bystanders in the area rushed to help, and police closed part of the road while taking care of the child to shield her from witnessing her mother’s injuries.
Authorities arrested a 71-year-old man on Saturday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility and may face additional charges as the investigation continues.
