[02-11-2026] San Diego County, CA – Fatal Crash on La Cresta Rd. in the Crest Area

A crash on La Cresta Road in the Crest area in San Diego County left the driver of a sedan dead on Wednesday afternoon, February 11, 2026

According to San Miguel Fire & Rescue, the collision was reported around 2:55 p.m. at the intersection of La Cresta Road and Mountain View Road. 

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a white truck collide with a red sedan. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries, while the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) El Cajon confirmed that the westbound lanes of La Cresta Road were closed due to the crash. All lanes were reopened around 6:50 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details.
