[02-13-2025] Driver Killed After Big Rig and Sedan Crash on I-5 Near Twin Cities RoadA driver was killed following a crash involving a big rig and a sedan on Interstate 5 south of Elk Grove early Thursday morning, February 13, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 5:00 a.m. along the southbound lanes of I-5 near Twin Cities Road.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation, but significant rain was reported in the area at the time.

Following the crash, the #1 lane was closed while the slow lane remained open, impacting traffic during the morning commute. The roadway was cleared by 8:00 a.m.
