A car overturned after being hit from behind by a pickup truck traveling at an unsafe speed on southbound Highway 99 in Fresno County on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 6:00 a.m., north of Belmont Avenue. Authorities reported that traffic was backed up due to a stopped vehicle in the center median with a flat tire.
The pickup truck was unable to slow down in time and rear-ended another car, causing it to overturn. Both vehicles ended up on the right shoulder.
Three drivers were involved in the crash, and minor injuries were reported.
The CHP does not believe alcohol was a factor, stating that the crash was caused by excessive speed in traffic.
The incident remains under investigation.
