A man was killed after being struck by two vehicles while crossing a roadway in Sacramento County on Sunday night, February 22, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol East Sacramento, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on eastbound Greenback Lane, just west of Main Avenue.
Investigators said the man was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. Shortly afterward, a second eastbound vehicle also struck him. Emergency crews responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Authorities described the victim as a male, possibly in his late 40s to mid-50s. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. CHP officials stated that drugs, alcohol, and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
