[02-23-2026] San Diego County, CA – One Airlifted After Head-On Crash on SR-94 Near Little Tecate Road

One driver was airlifted to a hospital following a head-on collision on State Route 94 near Little Tecate Road in San Diego on Monday afternoon, February 23, 2026.

According to Cal Fire, crews responded just after 3:00 p.m. to reports of a crash involving two vehicles that were reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when they collided. 

One driver sustained minor injuries and was expected to be released at the scene. The second driver was trapped in the vehicle and required rescue before being airlifted for further treatment.

Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.
