Two people were hospitalized after a fiery two-vehicle crash on westbound Highway 50 in Sacramento on Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:43 a.m. and involved a pickup truck and another car.
The pickup truck burst into flames following the collision, and another vehicle sustained heavy damage.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District confirmed that both individuals involved were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Emergency crews did not need to extricate them from their vehicles.
The crash caused significant traffic delays, with backups reaching as far as Sunrise Boulevard. All lanes were reopened by 8:05 a.m.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
