[03-01-2025] San Mateo County, CA – Two Seriously Injured After Driver Chasing Hit-and-Run Suspect Hits Pedestrians in Redwood City

Two pedestrians sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Redwood City on Saturday night, March 1, 2025.

According to the Redwood City Police Department, officers received a call at approximately 10:00 p.m. about a hit-and-run crash. The caller, whose vehicle had been hit, was actively chasing the suspect and refused police instructions to stop.

Authorities reported that the caller continued the pursuit at high speeds, disregarding traffic signals. The hit-and-run suspect eventually pulled over near a group of pedestrians in the 900 block of King Street. The pursuing driver then struck multiple people at the scene.

At least two adults suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Brian B. of Redwood City, was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility on four counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident remains under investigation.
