[03-08-2026] San Diego County, CA – Car Crashes Into Otay Mesa Sushi Restaurant, Knocking Woman to the Ground

A car crashed into the front of Little Sakana, a sushi restaurant in Otay Mesa, San Diego County, on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police, the incident occurred when a 70-year-old man, a regular customer at the restaurant, was attempting to park. 

Surveillance footage from the restaurant shows the woman standing outside when the vehicle approached, knocking her aside before crashing through the restaurant’s entrance.

Despite the frightening moment, those involved sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention. 

Restaurant staff said the crash occurred during a slow period after a prior power outage at the shopping plaza, so fewer people were inside. 

Employees believe the driver’s foot may have slipped, causing the vehicle to accelerate into the building. 

The crash is under investigation by the San Diego Police Department.
