A woman was killed, and two juvenile passengers were injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash in Redding on Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2026.
According to the Redding Police Department, officers responded to the crash at around 1:49 p.m. on Hartnell Avenue at the intersection of Victor Avenue.
Upon arrival, they found a Subaru and a pickup truck. The pickup truck had rolled over and came to rest upside down in the roadway.
The female driver of the pickup truck, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was partially ejected during the rollover and sustained fatal injuries. Two juveniles in the truck were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed that the female driver was traveling eastbound on Hartnell Avenue while actively using FaceTime on her cellphone. She failed to stop at the red light at the intersection of Victor Avenue and collided with a southbound Subaru driven by 41-year-old Daniel R. of Redding.
The Redding Police Department is reminding the public about the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
