One person was killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 8 in the College Area in San Diego early Friday morning, March 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just after 1:00 a.m. on eastbound I-8 near College Avenue.
Reports indicate that a vehicle crashed into a big rig truck before another driver collided with it moments later. The impact caused one of the vehicles to catch fire.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the car engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, but the driver inside was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
