A crash on Highway 108 near Sonora caused significant traffic delays, with one of the vehicles reportedly catching fire on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred between Stockton Street and Washington Street.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash caught fire, emitting visible smoke. Emergency responders, including an ambulance and a tow truck, were dispatched to the scene, and eastbound traffic on Highway 108 was diverted onto Stockton Street.
Traffic was backed up due to the crash, and travelers were advised to avoid the area.
