A 35-year-old man from Mariposa was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Coarsegold, Madera County, early Saturday morning, March 21, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the crash at around 2:15 a.m. on Highway 41 at Road 420.
The driver, in a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, was traveling southbound when he made an unsafe left turn and struck an embankment on the east side of the highway.
The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, and the driver was ejected from the car, suffering fatal injuries.
A 58-year-old man from Canada, a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
