At least one person was trapped following a crash on Highway 1 near the northern San Luis Obispo County line on Monday evening, March 23, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 5:03 p.m., located about 1.5 miles north of Ragged Point.
The crash resulted in one moderate injury and two minor injuries, with rescuers responding for vehicle extrication. Cal Fire requested a helicopter to assist with the rescue operation.
Traffic was slowed from Ragged Point to Salmon Creek as a result of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
