[03-24-2025] Two Girls Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Ten Mile Cut Off RoadA 16-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl, both from Gualala, were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Ten Mile Cut Off Road in rural Mendocino County on Monday morning, March 24, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. as a vehicle was traveling northbound on Ten Mile Cut Off Road, a remote route that connects Point Arena and Gualala. The vehicle reportedly veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the two passengers. However, both girls were pronounced dead at the scene despite those efforts.

The driver, identified as a 19-year-old man from Gualala, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Alcohol and drug impairment have been ruled out as contributing factors, according to authorities. The identities of the victims have not been released, and the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
