A driver and a toddler were injured in a rollover crash on Highway 86 in Coachella on Thursday evening, March 26, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 5:20 p.m. north of Avenue 50.
A Toyota Camry traveling at an unknown speed left the roadway, entered the right shoulder, and overturned.
The vehicle was occupied by a man and two infants. The driver and one of the infants were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The extent of their injuries was not specified.
Following the crash, the vehicle caught fire. Northbound lanes at 50th Avenue were closed for an undetermined period as crews responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
