[04-01-2024] San Diego County, CA – 40-Year-Old Man Killed Following Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision in Mira Mesa

A 40-year-old man was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Mira Mesa, San Diego, on Monday evening, April 1, 2024. 

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 7:39 p.m. in the 9500 block of Mira Mesa Boulevard at 10800 West View Parkway. 

Authorities stated that a 70-year-old man in a black 2001 Ford Expedition was driving westbound on Mira Mesa Boulevard at an unknown speed when he struck a 40-year-old pedestrian. 

Police said the victim suffered from multiple fractures, collapsed lungs, and blunt force trauma. He was transported to the hospital, where he died. It is believed that impaired driving was not a factor in the collision. 

Further details have yet to be released by the authorities. The investigation continues.
