A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Oildale, Kern County, on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to Manor Street, south of E. Norris Street, around 6:46 a.m. for a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the pedestrian was walking on Manor Street when an unidentified vehicle approached and struck him. The vehicle, traveling southbound at an unknown speed, crashed into the victim before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
The pedestrian was found on the west shoulder of Manor Street and later died from his injuries. CHP has not determined whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
