[04-01-2026] Riverside County, CA – Overturned Travel Trailer Blocks Lanes on I-215 Near Clinton Keith Road

An overturned 27-foot travel trailer caused a SigAlert and blocked multiple lanes on northbound Interstate 215 near Clinton Keith Road in Riverside County on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:38 a.m. when a vehicle towing the trailer, described by witnesses as either a gray Chevrolet Tahoe or a blue truck, was cut off by an unknown vehicle. The evasive maneuver or impact caused the trailer to flip onto its side while still attached to the towing vehicle.

Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible non-contact hit-and-run. The Murrieta Fire Department responded to the scene after reports of a potential propane leak from the overturned trailer.

The No. 2 and No. 3 lanes were blocked as emergency crews worked to manage the scene. A SigAlert was issued just before noon, and a tow truck was called to right the trailer.

By 12:27 p.m., all lanes were reopened, and traffic resumed normal flow.

The investigation is ongoing.
