[04-05-2025] Orange County, CA – Four Killed, Two Hospitalized After High-Speed Crash in Santa Ana

[04-05-2025] Four Killed, Two Hospitalized After High-Speed Crash in Santa AnaFour people were killed, and two others were hospitalized, including one in critical condition, after a high-speed crash into a tree in Santa Ana late Saturday night, April 5, 2025.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Segerstrom Avenue and Griset Place. Santa Ana Police Department officers responded to reports of a solo vehicle collision and found a vehicle that had struck a tree.

According to authorities, the vehicle was occupied by six individuals—five females and one male driver—traveling westbound on Griset at a high rate of speed before the fatal crash occurred.

Four of the occupants, including the 18-year-old male driver, two teenage girls, and one adult woman, were declared dead at the scene.

The remaining two victims, both teenagers, were transported to the hospital. One was reported to be in “very grave condition,” while the other was listed in stable condition, according to an SAPD public information officer.

None of the victims have been identified, but authorities stated that four were teenagers ranging from 13 to 17 years old.

The impact of the crash was so severe that debris from the vehicle flew across the road and struck two other cars traveling in the opposite direction. No occupants of those vehicles were injured, though both cars had to be towed from the scene.

Officer Garcia with the Santa Ana Police Department noted that DUI may have been a contributing factor, but the investigation is ongoing.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
