A 14-year-old boy died from injuries sustained in an electric bicycle crash on Rock Springs Drive near Oakland Way in Chino Hills on Saturday evening, April 5, 2025.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, at around 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area following reports of a bicycle accident involving two juveniles.
The boys had been riding the same electric bicycle, and neither was wearing a helmet as required by law. One boy sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The second boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center.
The injured boy later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released, and the nature and timing of his death have not been disclosed.
The SBCSD is investigating the incident.
