[04-10-2026] Fresno County, CA – Three Critically Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Fresno Yosemite International Airport

Three people were critically injured in a violent two-vehicle crash at an intersection near Fresno Yosemite International Airport early Friday, April 10, 2026.

According to Fresno Police Lt. Michael Pierce, police responded to reports of the collision at the intersection of Dakota and Chestnut avenues just after midnight. 

Upon arrival, officers found two heavily damaged vehicles and a large debris field spread across the intersection. Investigators said one vehicle wrapped around a utility pole, while the second vehicle crashed through a perimeter fence and came to rest inside airport property.

Three victims were located at the scene: two inside the vehicle on the road, including one person ejected during the crash, and a third trapped inside the vehicle that ended up on airport grounds. Fire and EMS personnel provided aid before transporting all three victims to Community Regional Medical Center, where they were listed in very critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle was in stable condition.

The crash left significant wreckage, complicating the investigation and cleanup. A collision reconstruction unit took over the investigation. 

It is too soon to determine whether alcohol or other factors played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
