According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 168 between Shepherd and Academy.
The golf cart was on the highway without its lights on, which limited the Mercedes driver’s visibility. As a result, the Mercedes crashed into the golf cart.
The golf cart driver was ejected and transported to the hospital. Officers believe the driver also had pre-existing medical conditions.
