[04-13-2026] San Francisco County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in South of Market; Driver Arrested

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco on Monday afternoon, April 13, 2026.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the incident was reported at around 3:24 p.m. at the intersection of Mission Street and South Van Ness Boulevard. 

Multiple good Samaritans and a Muni bus driver called 911 to report a pedestrian unresponsive and lying in the street. Witnesses stated that the driver sped away from the scene.

The police responded promptly and arrested the suspect, though no further details about the incident or the suspect were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
