A pedestrian walking inside a crosswalk was injured after being struck by a minivan driven by a suspected DUI motorist in Petaluma on Friday morning, April 18, 2025.
According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers and emergency responders were dispatched to the crash near D and 12th Streets at around 6:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found the injured pedestrian in the roadway. She was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment and is expected to survive her injuries.
The driver, identified as 38-year-old Alexander M., showed signs of alcohol intoxication at the scene. After a DUI investigation, he was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for DUI causing injury.
The Petaluma Police Department is investigating the crash.
