At least one person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck in the Shelter Valley area of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in San Diego County, on Saturday morning, April 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident at around 10:15 a.m. on State Route 78, east of San Felipe Road near Scissors Crossing.
Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and personnel from the California State Park Service assisted with traffic control at the scene. Two tow trucks were also requested for vehicle recovery.
A SigAlert issued following the crash was canceled shortly before 1:30 p.m. No additional details have been released, and the incident remains under investigation.
