An 11-year-old girl was killed in a side-by-side off-road vehicle crash in unincorporated Placer County on Sunday evening, April 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on private property along Red Feather Circle in Applegate. The girl was operating the vehicle with an adult male passenger when the vehicle rolled onto its driver’s side for unknown reasons.
The child was partially ejected during the rollover. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, she succumbed to her injuries.
The adult passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
