Three people were killed following a crash in southwest Bakersfield on Thursday evening, April 23, 2026.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Harris Road and Summer Springs Drive.
The crash involved a Toyota SUV, a Ford SUV, and a Honda sedan. Officers reported that all three vehicles were traveling eastbound when the Toyota rear-ended the Ford, causing a major impact with the Honda at the intersection.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital, where she later died. The driver and passenger of the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet determined whether impairment played a role.
