[04-26-2026] San Diego County, CA – Man Found Dead Along SR-76 in Oceanside, Possibly Struck by Vehicle

A man believed to have been struck by a vehicle was found dead along State Route 76 in Oceanside on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026.

According to the Oceanside Police Department, officers responded around 11 a.m. to westbound SR-76 after receiving a report of a person lying on the side of the road.

When officers arrived, they located a man in his early 20s who was not breathing and began CPR. Personnel from the North County Fire Protection District arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene at approximately 11:05 a.m. Authorities stated that the victim had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity and have not identified a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
