A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a truck occurred on Interstate 580 eastbound just east of North Livermore Avenue in Alameda County on Thursday morning, April 30, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 7 a.m. and involved a pickup truck, a BMW, a semi-trailer, and possibly other vehicles.
The pickup truck flipped over, landed on the center divider, and became stuck on the guardrail. A Toyota Tundra and a Nissan were also involved in the incident.
A SigAlert was issued, and the right three lanes were closed to allow for debris removal. By 7:08 a.m., all lanes in the area were temporarily blocked, with traffic delays reported near the intersection with SR-84.
CHP confirmed the crash was fatal, and the investigation is ongoing.
