An 84-year-old woman was killed, and another woman and two children sustained injuries following a two-vehicle head-on crash in El Dorado Hills, El Dorado County, on Friday morning, May 2, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 7:55 a.m. at Green Valley Road and Silva Valley Parkway.
Authorities said the driver of a silver Honda, identified as 84-year-old Joan A. of El Dorado Hills, died at the scene. A woman driving a Dodge Charger and two children under the age of 7 suffered major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that the Dodge driver was traveling erratically and crossed over the double yellow lines before slamming into the Honda.
Authorities indicated that a warrant would be sought for a blood test to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role.
The crash remains under investigation.
