[05-05-2025] 17-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured After Being Struck in Crosswalk in Redwood CityA 17-year-old girl was critically injured after being struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk in Redwood City on Monday afternoon, May 5, 2025.

According to the Redwood City Police Department, the incident occurred around noon on El Camino Real. 

A vehicle driven by a 64-year-old motorist reportedly ran a red light and struck the girl while she was lawfully crossing at a designated crosswalk.

The teen was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Her identity has not been released.

Paramedics suspect the driver may have experienced a medical emergency immediately following the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the driver has not yet been made public.
