A motorcyclist was injured following a crash involving a FedEx semi-truck in the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County, on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 5:48 p.m. on the northbound Interstate 15 south of Oak Hill Road.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle struck the rear of a white FedEx semi-truck that was stopped on the right shoulder of the freeway. The rider was found down in the number four and number five lanes following the collision.
Investigators stated that the semi-truck had already been parked on the shoulder before the crash occurred, and the driver was reportedly sleeping inside the cab at the time of impact. Witnesses also told CHP dispatchers that the motorcyclist had allegedly been weaving through traffic at high speeds prior to the crash.
Emergency crews blocked multiple lanes while responding to the scene, causing significant traffic delays through the Cajon Pass during the evening commute. All lanes were reopened at approximately 7:09 p.m.
The condition of the motorcyclist has not been disclosed. The investigation remains ongoing.
